Today the Crandon big Labor Day Weekend festivities officially launched with a Main street lineup of race cars, drivers, fans, food and fun on the main street of downtown. Since this is the 40th anniversary of Racing in Crandon lots of old timers where on display. We chatted with some of them and learned how it all started. The orange “tub” raced in 1979 and has completed the legendary 100 mile Brush Run 101. Obviously technology has moved ahead and the VW powered ride is no longer a contender.
Around noon the locals assembled a parade leading to the race track just down the road.
Next on todays schedule is drivers meeting, practice and a Pro Lite race in the night.
