Mint 400 Class Winners to Receive Custom Biltwell Helmet

The Mint 400 celebrates its history with vintage off-road race awards.

Biltwell Helmets has come aboard as product sponsor of The Great American Off-Road Race, creating custom helmet trophies for all 29 classes competing at the 2017 Polaris RZR Mint 400 presented by BFGoodrich Tires. In 2016, Biltwell created custom helmet trophies hand painted by legendary So. Cal. painter and pin striper Pete “Hot Dog” Finlan at Hot Dog Kustoms for 1st place, 1st loser and 2nd loser for both vintage classes.  This year, every class winner will receive one of these trophies.

Biltwell makes parts and accessories that make riding and building custom motorcycles more fun.  As they see it, there are a growing number of riders and garage-shop mechanics out there who love the art and science of hand-built motorcycles, but who want nothing to do with today’s custom bike scene.  Like the founders of Biltwell, these new motorcycle riders grew up surfing, skating and riding BMX. Their collective involvement in action sports gives Biltwell a cultural, technical and entrepreneurial advantage over the nostalgia-chasing dentists, chiropractors and stockbrokers who rode before them.

Every Biltwell product will be engineered and manufactured and priced to meet standards of function, performance and value that make sense in the real world. Simple, honest and high-quality motorcycle parts and accessories that anyone can afford, and that everyone will be proud to use and own.

About The Mint 400

Known as “The Great American Off-Road Race™,” The Mint 400 is the oldest, most prestigious, and most challenging off-road race on the planet. This annual four-hundred mile marathon between the top off-road racers in the world includes over three hundred and fifty race teams in twenty-four different classes of off-road vehicles. Established in 1967, The Mint 400 is steeped in American lore. Thousands of racers and celebrities from around the world have attempted to tame the brutal Nevada desert, but less than half of them have ever finished the Mint. An entire week of events lead up to the famed off-road contest in and around Las Vegas, including a vehicle parade down the Las Vegas Strip, a drivers meet and greet, a pit crew challenge contest, the Miss Mint 400 beauty pageant, massive parties, a qualifying race, and a huge ten-block “contingency” gathering on Fremont Street East. Over forty-thousand spectators gather to watch the worlds best off-road race teams do battle at The Mint 400!
