Today the 2010 edition of General Tire SNORE Mint 400 launched with a “Meet and Greet” on Fremont Street in Las Vegas and the crowning of the Miss Mint 400.
Meet and Greet was a mini contingency row the day before the real contingency and tech inspection. Since there was no inspections nor pushing race cars along it made for a perfect opportunity to just meet and greet, hence the title. Racers, support crew and fans mingled among each other while some of the typical contingency vendors where open for business.
During the last weeks General Tire opened submissions for the Miss Mint 400 title to the public and anyone with a computer and internet access was able to cast votes for their favorite candidate.
The voting came down to 3 finalists. Out of those 3 General Tire had the last word and picked someone who best suites their criteria. “Ali” was declared the winner tonight on stage as part of the Fremont Experience. Along with the crown came a gigantic check.
Tomorrows schedule calls for qualifying at 7AM, contingency & drivers sign in afterwards. The Mint 400 race will be held Saturday.
