DEL MAR, Calif. (March 23, 2019)—Living up to its billing as a fun-filled family event that was ‘everything dirt’, the inaugural Toyota Escondido Off-Road Nights Expo, presented by TE Motorsports turned part of San Diego County’s famous Del Mar Fairgrounds into a positive, massive dirt lifestyle expo Saturday in a day-long festival.
The ultimate action sports-inspired lifestyle expo, both indoors and outdoors, featured over 120 leading industry vendors, exhibits, displays, the ORN Car Show, ORN Truck Cross and special UTV, and Quad rhythm racing along with live entertainment and music, demos, product giveaways and autograph sessions throughout the ORN dirt lifestyle day.
With nearly 10,000 thousand spectators, over 50 racing vehicles, the first-of-its-kind event at the fabled Del Mar Fairgrounds included a food court with numerous unique food and beverage vendors.
“Unbelievable is the way to describe how spectacular this first-time event was at the fabled Del Mar Fairgrounds”, an exhausted event producer Rat Sult. “We have put on a similar event in Temecula for the last six years and Del Mar is an iconic venue to expand into and this turned out huge with huge crowds, lots of cars, displays, racing and entertainment. We were so packed our crew did a masterful job in a new venue and did an admirable job in bringing a piece of our dirt lifestyle up close and personal!”
The ORN Dirt Lifetstlye Expo Del Mar featured lots of up close, fan-friendly races in the Del Mar Fairgrounds Arena with special competitions–UTV Rhythm Racing (3 classes), Quad Racing and the ORN Truck Cross (Street and Open classes).
Winning the ‘friendly’ special competitions were: Blake Wilkey (ORN Truck Cross Open), Mike Ball (Truck Cross Street), Ruslan Yankilevich (UTV 800cc), Tyler Winbury (UTV 1000cc), Tyler Winbury (UTV Open) and Daniel Arenas (Pro Quad).
Noted action sports announcer Dave Arnold was at the microphone for all of the special racing competitions.
Helping welcome the fans, racers and participants during a stirring opening ceremony were National Anthem singer Samantha Parker of Riot Scene, members of the Warfighter Made organization of Temecula, Calif., former Miss ORNs in the back of a new Toyota Truck, the High-Risk Mini Monster truck and Del Mar Mayor Dave Druker.
Providing the entertainment on the ORN music stage through Riot Scene were (in chronological order) popular local bands Neurotic Mirage, Tunnel Vision, Hazmatt, Hollywood Values, Deathboys, Koty Rocks and Tra.
Among the many celebrity that made appearances was legendary Australian freestyle motorcycle stunt rider Robbie Maddison signing autographs and taking pictures with his famous ‘water bike’ at the Line-X display.
Also part of the celebrity appearance list are Jeremy Davis and his 2018 SCORE Lites open-wheel season point champion desert race car (Tri-Ace Tires), Hatch Racing and their new unlimited custom desert racing truck, Dennis Hollenbeck and his loveable ‘Bochito’ SCORE Class 11 champion stock VW Sedan (Casa de Esperanza orphanage) and local ‘bad boy’ Blake Wilkey and his infamous VW Baja Bug (Shreddy).

Leading several award winners, selected as the ORN Vendor of the Year for the event was Rugged Radio of Arroyo Grande, Calif.
