Podium finish for Preston Campbell 2019 AMA NHHA Championship Pro 250!

The final round of the 2019 NHHA Championship took place in Johnson Valley, CA. The hosting club was none other than the Checkers MC executing a creative Hare and Hound. An 83-mile “Point-to-Loop” for the 69th annual Check Chase NHHA that would decide several classes and overall titles for 2019.

JCR/Honda’s Pro 250 rider, Preston Campbell has had a remarkable freshman year competing on the all-new CRF250RX- a freshman bike itself, landing on the podium at nearly every round thus this far. The young Campbell’s determination and consistency placed him in 3rd place points for the division going into the last event, with a mathematical chance at the overall Pro 250 title. A “nothing-lose and all to gain” circumstance, he left the start wide-open in pursuit of the top step. He was at a great pace, pushing his competitors when he clipped a rock and went down hard. Preston gathered himself up after losing multiple positions and damaging his bike. In typical Honda fashion even damaged the bike soldered on to the next pit located at the end of the first 44 miles. The JCR/Honda pit crews quickly repaired the crash damage to the machine. Preston remounted to complete the final 39-mile rock laced loop and finish 7th in his class for the day.

Congratulations to Preston who fought hard all season long and came out with a respectable 3rd place in the Pro 250 National Hare and Hound Championship for 2019.

Also this round we supported Chris Keefer of Keefer Testing, Inc. to ride Brabec’s CRF450X NHHA bike. Keefer did a nice podcast about the Team and the bike. Here is the link to listen.
