Preston Campbell Earns Podium at NHHA Round 6
The National Offroad Racing series restarted after the long summer break, including GNCC, WORCS, and NHHA. JCR’s Preston Campbell shifted gears from riding his CRF250RX at Italy to racing his more familiar steed, his CRF450X!
Round 6 of the NHHA Championship resumed in Panaca, Nevada, where the Silver State Trailblazers MC hosted a unique point-to-point style event, starting near the Panaca airport. Pit crews had to chase the race to two different pit locations and finish at the county fairgrounds 77 miles later. Preston acclimated well to his mighty CRF450X, nearly hole-shotting the “Bomb Run” Preston was the second bike on the road in a field of over 300 riders. After the first 22 miles, Preston trailed the lead bike just outside his dust and had over 1 minute back to third. At pit 2, 52 miles into the race, the margin remained the same. Preston pitted for a fresh set of 100% goggles, and the crew fueled the bike with VP Racing fuel from the IMS quick-fill device. Campbell put his Honda in a solid podium at the finish-(second overall) his career-best finish in a National to date. Preston maintains 3rd overall in National points with 3 -rounds remaining for 2021.
“Honda has a great couple of weeks of racing across the board! Congrats on Jett’s 250 Championship in MX! I am super proud of our AHM-supported Off-Road racers that represented Team USA in the 94th running of the ISDE in North Italy where Cody Barnes, Cole Martinez, and Preston Campbell all earned Gold medals in their perspective divisions! Great job racers and Team USA! Congratulations Preston on your best result in NHHA thus far.” — Johnny Campbell
