RPM Off-Road Class 5/1600

If you have been following desert racing the last couple of years especially this season, you would know RPM Off-Road is one of the most popular race teams today. A Couple of years ago, Clyde Stacy and Justin Matney gathered a bunch of people who they thought with the right push could be great. Apdaly Lopez and Lalo Laguna are living proof of that, the team also have great results in the limited categories. Here is a look at one of them, the 5/1600 bug.

RPM Off-Road hired Mateo Pabloff to be in charge of the full prep of some of the race trucks including the 5/1600. Mateo Pabloff and the Pabloff Racing shop is a well-known name in the off-road industry down in Baja. Since 2010 Mateo with RPM Off-Road has collected a SCORE championships almost every year. First one in 2010 with a Class 9, then 2011 in Class 11. In 2012 they made the jump to 5/1600 campaigning for the SCORE championship but that year the driver of record Clyde Stacy had an accident pre-running and since he never got behind the wheel that race, they got disqualified. In 2013 they tried again this time winning the SCORE championship in the 5/1600 class.

5/1600 Highlights are:
2012
2nd SCORE San Felipe 250
1st Baja 500
1st Baja 1000

2013
2nd San Felipe 250

Currently the limited bug is driven by Christyan Samano, he’s fighting for the 2015 RECORD championship in the sportsman class 15 hoping to jump up to the pro class in the 2016 RECORD and CODE series.

Thank you to RPM Off Road for allowing us to shoot this vehicle. They had just finished a race and wiped it down for us. We are sure our readers appreciate a little baja dirt on it.
