No Second Chances in Crandon – Ruppel Looks for Second Stock Truck Championship
Gets Ride in Limited 2 for the Weekend.
Chetek, WI (September 1, 2009) – Eric Ruppel and his #837 Phil’s Inc. Art Carr Transmission Trailready BFGoodrich Ford F-150 is in a tight battle for the 2009 TORC SRT Stock Truck Championship. The reigning class champion is only one point behind leader Don Demeny, but win only two rounds of racing to go, the top seven drivers still have a shot at winning the crown.
The final weekend of SRT racing will be held during the 40th Anniversary Celebration of Off-Road Racing in Crandon, Wisconsin. An added bonus is the final round of racing will be the Mole Lake Casino Stock Truck Challenge. The final race of the Stock Truck season offers added purse money and a cool trophy to the winner.
If his weekend wasn’t already under heavy pressure, Eric will get behind the wheel of the #277 SRT Limited 2 truck of Don Williams. Don is a perennial contender for the Limited 2 Championship, but a nagging back injury prevents him from finishing the season in the driver’s seat. The Limited 2 race truck is the next move up in class for typical Stock Truck competitors. The race truck is a spec tube chassis with a complete fiberglass body, twenty inches of wheel travel, and a 650 horsepower V8 engine.
“This weekend will be intense,” noted Eric Ruppel. “I’m battling for the Stock Truck Championship, and getting a special opportunity to move up to the big time thanks to Don. I know Kramer, Ewert, and Scott will keep the Phil’s Inc. Art Carr Transmission Ford running its best all weekend. Don and his crew will give me a Limited 2 truck that runs with the best of them. It’s time to shine. There are no second chances this weekend? I must thank everyone at Art Carr Transmissions and Phil?s Inc. (primary sponsors of Eric?s Stock Truck) for supporting my chance to compete at the next level.?
