SNORE has to be the desert racing promoter of the year. They brought back the legendary Mint 400, then the Battle at Primm has become a “Must attend event” and now the Nevada club is looking at rejuvenating desert racing in Laughlin Nevada. Rage at the River is what SNORE calls this new race.
It’s too early to call the weekend but today’s contingency and time trial qualifying might be an indication of a fun weekend of really freaking cold off-road racing. Temperatures are in the 50-60s during the day with no rain so far. Let’s keep it that way.
BLM, Metro Police and SNORE staff have been courteous and friendly. So far so good.
Race entries are high. When we left contingency at around 6pm there was a line up of cars yet to be tech inspected that wrapped around the Tropicana parking lot. Promising.
Of personal RDC interest is that two of our forum moderators will battle against each other in Trophy-Lite. The trash talk has been high and helped to create some friendly tension between Pat Dailey and Austin “Fish” Farner. Good luck guys.
The race course uses some of the old SCORE LDC course past the two road crossings and through the “dam”.
Follow the unfolding of this SNORE new comer right here on RDC throughout the weekend.
