Still got DAKAR FEVER?

What if someone could re-create a mini DAKAR Rally-like experience for motorcycles with special riding clinics, guided GPS routes, a nightly bivouac and actual DAKAR finishers on hand to share their experience and love for the world’s largest rally?

Thanks to our good friends at AltRider, Seattle –based maker of hard goods for adventure motorcycles, and former DAKAR podium finisher Jimmy Lewis, the remedy is a 3-day adventure ride around Death Valley this February 22-44

It’s called “Taste of DAKAR” and Mr. “11-Time” Johnny Campbell, fresh off his latest DAKAR finish will be the featured guest on this special adventure which was formerly invite only.

That's right! It's your own little Rally Raid experience but closer to home

The 3-day adventure starts on Friday morning with an option to attend Jimmy Lewis’ Off Road School at a special price of to ride one of three custom stages suited for varying riding levels. The stages are designed to give guests a feel of the varying terrain that DAKAR racers have to endure. You will see everything from sand dunes, to lakebeds, washes, canyons and sandstone.

Each of 2 nights, riders will be hosted for camping, meals and all drinks in the bivouac under the stars, just like the real DAKAR riders.

Days 2 and 3 feature DAKAR-like routes with on bike clinics.

As a special offer, Jimmy Lewis is hosting his 2-day road book navigation clinic on Sunday afternoon 2/24 and all day Monday the 25th. Lewis’ schools are among the best of their type in North America and Lewis is credited for training many of America’s DAKAR hopefuls over the years including Jonah Street, Quinn Cody and even Johnny Campbell himself.

When ALTRIDER co-founder Jeremy LeBreton collaborated with Jimmy Lewis for the inaugural taste of DAKAR last year, it was open only to ALTRIDER’s loyal customers as a special event. It was such a big hit that they opened it up to everyone. It’s likely to fill up quickly.
