THE SILK WAY RALLY IS PART OF THE FIM CROSS-COUNTRY RALLY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
This year, the SILK WAY RALLY will be one of the main stages of the FIM CROSS-COUNTRY RALLY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. This 9th edition will start on July 6th from IRKUTSK (Russia), not far from the shores of the BAIKAL LAKE, and will offer a totally new adventure: the crossing of EAST SIBERIA, MONGOLIA from North to South and the famous GOBI DESERT and its ocean of dunes, to judge the finish, on July 16th in DUNHUANG (China).
Preparations for the SILK WAY RALLY 2019 are well underway and the Organising Committee is glad to be able to make an important announcement : the SILK WAY RALLY will be, next summer, a major event of the FIM CROSS-COUNTRY RALLY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. This is an opportunity for all the official teams and the most ambitious riders to collect important points on this major marathon event, for the conquest of the coveted world title. In order to welcome the motorcycle category in the best conditions, the Organising Committee has also chosen to limit the number of bikes and quads, by accepting only riders entered with a service crew.

In 2018, more than 74 broadcasters signed TV rights agreements, allowing the Silk Way Rally to be broadcasted in no less than 196 countries and thus to consolidate its worldwide exposure, in particular by broadcasting dedicated programmes on international sports channels, in addition to those on the national channels of the countries crossed.
