This Weekend At Glen Helen: Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, N.A.H.A. Hillclimb, REM Saturday MX, and Yamaha Dealer Series
• Rounds 5 & 6 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series comes to Glen Helen Raceway, May 21-22.
• The N.A.H.A. Hillclimb is Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22 on Glen Helen’s 500-foot Long Hill.
• REM Saturday MX is on the USGP Track this Saturday, May 21st.
• Round 2 of the Yamaha Dealer Series hits the USGP Track Sunday, May 22nd.
• Lucas Oil fans will enter and park through the main gate, all other events will enter and park through the Pavilion side of the facility. See below for detailed driving and parking directions.
San Bernardino, Calif. – May 18, 2011 – Following the thrilling USGP weekend Glen Helen Raceway looks ahead to more racing action with a bevy of events. All tracks will be full of racing this weekend, which includes the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, the N.A.H.A. Hillclimb, REM Saturday MX and the Yamaha Dealer Series.
The action kicks off with an off road bang as the world’s best UTV and Trophy Truck drivers take on Glen Helen’s Lucas Oil Short Course on Saturday and Sunday. Rounds 5 and 6 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series is sure to draw a large crowd to see some of the best off road racing north of Baja. Tickets can be purchased at http://glenhelen.c.topica.com/maaoUKIab4trLbomP5DbaeQA4Q/ Single-day tickets for Saturday and Sunday are $30 for adults and $10 for children 6-12 (children under 6 are free). Weekend passes are also available for $50 for adults and $15 for children 6-12 (children under 6 are free) and include Friday’s practice and qualifying heats as well as Saturday’s and Sunday’s races.
The Racer X/Malcolm Smith Motorsports/N.A.H.A. Pro Hillclimb returns to America’s Playground in Southern California as the best hillclimbers around attempt to conquer Glen Helen’s treacherous mountainsides. This year will be the debut of X Climb, where two riders will race each other up the side of an obstacle-laden hillside. Tickets for this Saturday-Sunday event are available at the track for the price of $15. All tickets include a free pit pass, and kids 6 and under are free. REM Saturday MX returns to Glen Helen Raceway after a short break for the USGP. This will not be a series race, as participants will get a rare opportunity to ride the specially redesigned USGP Track! Reconfigured for this past weekend’s Grand Prix of the United States, the USGP Track promises to give riders an extra thrill as they race the same track as the best pros from around the world. The weekend comes to a close Sunday as the 19th Annual Yamaha Dealer Series returns to Glen Helen for Round 2 of the family-oriented racing action. SPECIAL PARKING INSTRUCTIONS:
Special driving and parking directions for Saturday and Sunday have been issued to fans and participants of this weekend’s events, given high volume of traffic expected at the Glen Helen. The main gate off of Verdemont Ranch Rd will only be open to patrons attending the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. The other events will not be accessible from the main gate. From the 215N exit at Palm/Kendall and turn left, go straight at through the two stop signs and proceed into the park. There will be signs posted with directions as well.
All patrons attending or participating in the Hillclimb, REM Saturday MX or Yamaha Dealer Series will be entering the Glen Helen facilities from the Pavilion side. Exit the 215N at Devore Road and turn left. There will be signs directing traffic to Glen Helen Parkway. If coming from the 15N, exit at Glen Helen Parkway and follow the signs. (Guests coming to the park on Friday can enter through the main gate).
