After three days of periodic rain it finally let up for the first race of the weekend at Crandon International Raceway. Monster Energy’s Johnny and CJ Greaves were there to put on a show for race fans and didn’t disappoint.
CJ had mechanical problems in Pro Light on Saturday and had to pull off the track early. But in Pro 2wd he was able to pull off a second place finish. Johnny worked hard during the Pro 4×4 race and made his way into the third position. “Got a horrible start, made my way to the front and got into the race toward the end and just ran out of time, everything else is running pretty good, we’ll see what we got for a race track tomorrow. We gotta thank Monster Energy, Toyota, Maxxis Tires, Magnaflow, Method Wheels, Forrest County Potawatomi and everyone that helps make this possible,” stated Johnny.
During Sunday’s Pro Light race CJ was able to come back from the previous days mechanical failure and finish in the third place spot. In the Pro 2wd race CJ chased down Chad Hord and finally made the pass for a second place finish behind Rob MacCachren. In Pro 4×4 Mike Jenkins got the hole shot and held it for the first 4 laps but Johnny Greaves quickly passed Rob MacCachren moving into second and wasted no time getting around Jenkins. Johnny never looked back and took the Pro 4×4 win and also layed down the fastest lap getting the Oakley Bomb award.
To top off the weekend Johnny dominated the Potawatomi Community Cup Challenge. The Pro 4×4’s started 12 seconds behind the Pro 2wd trucks and Johnny battled through the field for the win with his son CJ taking third in his Pro 2wd.
