TORC Series Revamps Agreement with Crandon International Raceway
SALT LAKE CITY (Oct. 28, 2016)- TORC: The Off-Road Championship presented by AMSOIL has announced a newly signed agreement with Crandon International Off-Road Raceway. The new four-year partnership between Crandon, “The Big House,” and TORC will ensure two weekends of TORC racing at the historic track starting in 2017 through 2020.
“TORC is pleased and honored to have a multi-year agreement with such an important track,” said TORC Series Director Ben Nelson. “The history of off-road short course racing is deeply rooted in the region and the raceway. The TORC series feels that legacy is important to preserve for future drivers and fans. This partnership with Crandon is a key component of the foundation needed to develop the best possible TORC product for drivers, fans and partners.”
Crandon’s purpose-built, 400-acre complex is one of the finest facilities of its kind and has hosted the largest crowds in off-road short course racing history. This legacy has recently grown thanks to the record attendance of 49,600 fans that enjoyed the track’s 2016 Labor Day World Cup Celebration. Located two hours northwest of Green Bay, WI and one mile outside the town of Crandon, WI (population 1,386); for the past 47 years “The Big House” has provided three generations of enthusiasts with high-intensity, dirt-throwing action and legendary performances by the sport’s best drivers.
“The board of directors at Crandon International Raceway are very supportive of the TORC series and the overall vision of its new ownership group,” explained Crandon President Cliff Flannery. “At first we were a bit skeptical, but soon became impressed with the progressive steps TORC has taken in creating an honest and professional atmosphere, their commitment to a solid media package and executing a top-notch series for racers, sponsors, fans and our sport. This new agreement reflects Crandon’s faith in TORC’s path toward building an exciting future for all of us.”
TORC 2016 sponsors include AMSOIL, Bad Boy, Copper Tires, Maxxis, Kenda Tires, VP Racing Fuels, Atturo Tire, Rugged Radios, Akamai and Vision Wheels.
