TOYOTA SIENNA VAN COMPLETES TWENTY-FIFTH
TRIP AROUND THE WORLD AT TOYOTA SPEEDWAY
Saturday Night – May 28 – Foster Care Awareness Night

Irwindale, Calif. – – Actually, the 2004 Toyota Sienna Van in question has never been out of the state, but the mileage figure above: half a million (500,000!) miles is correct and very accurate.

And, if we may be allowed one more distance allusion: it’s rolled up enough miles to drive to the moon and back. That’s a lifetime of driving for many, but for this particular trustworthy Toyota Sienna it’s just part of the job.

Used to transport at risk and their teachers from all over California. This Sienna has been in the faithful service of Trinity Youth Services since it was purchased new in 2004.

“We’ve got every service record, this van has been a great asset,” said Jeff Kanavas the Director of Warehouse and Maintenance/Fleet Manager for Trinity. “We own and operate more than 40 Toyota vehicles and we have always had great respect for their reliability, but this Sienna really got our attention as it sailed on through the 200,000, 300,000, and 400,000 marks on its odometer. Then this year our driver, Bill Cutforth brought it to my attention that this van was about to cross over the 500,000-mile mark. We thought that was something special, something to be celebrated.”

The tough Toyota Sienna van has put on every one of those 500 thousand miles transporting children to a brighter future all within the state of California; picking up and dropping off youngsters and their teachers in 48 counties statewide. And, just for the record driver Bill Cutforth holds another stat: a remarkable thirty-eight years at the wheel for the organization.

“This remarkable organization has turned the reliability of Toyota products into a valuable asset for their organization,” said Toyota’s Frank Arena, “This is the sort of story that really needs to be told. These people are able to make valuable funds go further in providing direct services for the children in their care because of the kind of faithful service that vehicles like their Sienna provided them,” he went on.” “We are very proud of our product, but even more proud of the way that Trinity has chosen to do its important work.”

The Sienna van will mark its actual five hundred thousandth mile right on the racetrack before the NASCAR races scheduled for Saturday night. “We’ll take it on a couple of laps of honor, and have a camera aboard to record the magic moment,” said Track GM/VP Bob DeFazio. “We’re honored that the CFA chose Toyota Speedway to put this historic number on this stalwart Sienna. This is a good night for everyone involved with the Speedway.”

On Saturday, May 28, 2011 NASCAR and Toyota Speedway will salute the Children’s Foundation of America with a special National Foster Care Awareness Night.

“LA’s Half-Mile SuperSpeedway” will welcome guest and supporters and help to promote and celebrate the CFA’s important work.

That evening the track will feature seven divisions of great short track racing on both of the Speedway’s “twin ring oval tracks”.

The track’s premier Auto Club Late Models will go for national championship points on Saturday night and there’ll be great events for: the King Taco Super Trucks, Vista Paint Super Stocks, South West Tour Trucks, DriveTech Late Models, the ASA Truck Series, and the Ken Porter Auctions Open Comps.

That’s seven races, seven green flags, seven checkered flags, and about 150 laps of tire-smoking, door-banging, four-wide NASCAR short track four-wheel combat in between and it’s all in ONE NIGHT. This is short track, short races, no-holds-barred, no-yawn, live, stock car (and truck) fun.
