Trophy Truck Driver, Jason McNeil to Pilot Rodrigo Ampudia’s Pro Lite at Lucas Oil Off Road Short Course

December 8, 2010 – Santee, CA

The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series will likely see a large increase in entries during this weekend’s final round and the coveted Challenge Cup event. No doubt, with the $35,000 purse on the line during the Pro Lite vs. Pro Buggy race, it will be no easy task to outdrive a massive field of trucks and buggies. One entry, new to short course racing, will be giving it his best shot.

Notable desert racer Jason McNeil has arranged for his first opportunity to get behind the wheel of Rodrigo Ampudia’s Ford Pro Lite. “I have always been a fan of how intense wheel-to-wheel short course racing is,” explained Jason. “I know the Ampudia’s maintain top of the line equipment and this Pro Lite is capable of winning. I don’t have any experience in short course, but I have driven a large variety of race cars and can adapt quickly. I am looking forward to competing during HYPERLINK “http://www.lucasoiloffroad.com” LOORRS Round 15 and hopefully I can make it into the Challenge Cup on Sunday.”

The Pro Lite will be decked out in the traditional FiberwerX themed paint scheme and is sponsored by Papa’s & Beer, Lucas Oil, Fox Shoxs, and FiberwerX. In addition to the Pro Lite, there will also be two new Trophy Karts decked out in FiberwerX colors. Also debuting at this weekend’s event is a brand new Pro 2 body for Rodrigo Ampudia’s #36 Machine and designed to resemble the popular Ford Raptor. The new look will not be revealed till the Papas & Beer / Lucas Oil Pro 2 hits the track.

Jason McNeil campaigns his #50 FiberwerX / HYPERLINK “http://www.generaltire.com” General Tire SCORE Trophy Truck in the deserts of Baja Mexico. Other accolades include a CODE Class 7 Championship, a dozen podiums, and several overall wins.

Jason comes from a heavy background in off road racing where he and his younger brothers began building pre runner style trucks out of their “Pop’s” garage before they could legally drive on the street.

Nearly two decades later, McNeil is the sole proprietor of HYPERLINK “http://www.fiberwerx.com” FiberwerX. The Santee based company manufactures fiberglass panels & carbon fiber products. “We have come a long way,” stated Jason “I feel confident as a leading manufacturer in the off road industry and it has become apparent that short course racing is truly the future of off road racing. We have worked hard to develop a full line of short course specific products covering all the common makes and models for HYPERLINK “http://fiberwerx.com/html/product-racebodies.htmlPro 2 / Pro 4, Pro Lite and Trophy Karts. FiberwerX is a Lucas Oil Off Road Series Contingency Sponsor and we also support many teams that compete in the series. I have wanted to race one of these for a long time. I just hope my wife does not find out about this.”

Make sure to jam on out this weekend to support Jason McNeil, Rodrigo Ampudia and catch all the intense racing action of the Lucas Oil Off Road Series.
