Vol. 7, No. 12 of the SCORE Journal is once again filled with numerous interesting worth-reading features, stories, captivating images, exciting videos and several news items.
This issue goes beyond in-depth in exclusive coverage in words, pictures and videos from this year’s spectacular peninsula run of the BFGoodrich Tires 54th SCORE Baja 1000, presented by 4 Wheel Parts. Anchored with an up-close look at the amazing overall victory by the ‘super team’ of Rob MacCachren and Luke McMillin, there are several additional editorial feature packages on various individual and groups of classes along with the detailed finisher’s list from each and every class in the historic event. Another class feature is on the Pro-Motor Ironman class (solo riders) where six of an amazing 13 starters completed the rugged 1,226.35-mile race course from Ensenada to La Paz, led by Bolivian superstar athlete Juan Carlos Salvatierra.

This fourth special section goes deep with American Motorcycle and Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Famer Larry ‘Mr. Baja’ Roeseler who has a race-record 14 career SCORE Baja 1000 overall race wins. Roeseler is the only racer in SCORE history to have won the famous SCORE Baja 1000 on a motorcycle, in a truck and in an open-wheel race car.

The SCORE Journal digital magazine, reaching an average of over 1.9 million unique viewers per issue, with an average engagement time of over 27 minutes is a major element in the continuing media expansion that SCORE has implemented. The continually revamped SCORE website also generates an average of over 2 million monthly unique viewers.
SPECIAL NUMBERS
The SCORE Journal digital magazine’s October 2021 (SCORE Baja 1000 preview) issue delivered a record 2,005,645 unique viewers/readers. The Spanish version of that SCORE Journal issue recorded 511,212 unique viewers/readers.
The SCORE website for the race week of the 54th SCORE Baja 1000 in November of 2021 had a record 2,608,667 unique viewers. The increase was fueled by the expanded live tracking, live streaming, the Weatherman audio feed and race info updates.
During race week for the 2021 SCORE Baja 1000, SCORE Facebook generated a record 4,670,167 people reached with 592,024 facebook engagements. SCORE Instagram had 705,224 views.
In Social Media Analytics for the 2021 SCORE Baja 1000 race week, data includes SCORE, driver, sponsor, team and media activity. Total social impact shows 5,375,391 million people reached, 5,410,000 total interaction on branded posts, 30,020,000 total video views/total impressions and 722,500,000 impressions on branded posts. All of these totals are the most in SCORE history.
On the SCORE website during the 2021 SCORE Baja 1000 race week, traffic allocation saw 2,608,667 unique viewers.
EN ESPANOL!
The SCORE Journal features a Spanish language edition of the magazine on the SCORE website. Spanish-speaking individuals represent nearly 20% of the SCORE Journal unique reader base. The link may be viewed on the menu of the SCORE Journal Magazine tab on the SCORE Website. The Spanish language version of the SCORE Journal will be posted within the week of the English version. The October issue of the 2021 SCORE Journal saw a record 511,214 views of the issue in Spanish.

ESPN TV NETWORKS AGAIN IN 2021
For the third straight year, the 2021 SCORE World Desert Championship races are airing on the ESPN family of networks. The four-races are airing as specials on the World of X Games program on ESPN2. The SCORE Baja 1000 is scheduled to air on Sunday, January 9, 2022.
ABC first covered the 1967 and 1968 Baja 1000 races on the old ABC Wide World of Sports show with Jim McKay and again in the late 1980s with veteran motorsports journalist Sam Posey.
All of the SCORE race coverage shows also continue to air internationally in nearly 25 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and South America via syndication and ESPN International. The shows are co-produced by SCORE International and SoCal’s award-winning BCII TV.
